High-performance electric all-wheel-drive platform
BYD DM-p is a dual-motor electric AWD architecture that replaces mechanical drivetrains with software-controlled front and rear drive units. Developed from the original Tang DM system, it enables faster response, higher efficiency, and precise torque coordination across all driving conditions.
High-Output Dual-Motor System
Powerful, responsive, and fully electrified
DM-p combines a 160 kW front EHS hybrid motor with a 200-kW rear 3-in-1 electric drive unit. Together, they deliver instant torque, true electric AWD, and sub-5-second acceleration. Independent motor control allows power to be distributed precisely without mechanical delays.
Intelligent Energy & Drive Modes
Optimized performance across every scenario
The system intelligently switches between EV, HEV Series, and HEV Parallel modes based on driving conditions. A 45.8 kWh Blade Battery enables up to 215 km (NEDC) of pure electric driving, while hybrid modes balance efficiency, power output, and long-distance usability.
Smart Electric AWD Control
Fast torque response for maximum stability
DM-p uses real-time electronic torque vectoring that reacts up to 100× faster than traditional AWD systems. Torque is continuously adjusted between front and rear axles to enhance grip on snow, sand, wet roads, and during cornering — ensuring confident, stable driving in all conditions.
